ITS MEANING, DEPICTION AND HOW TO FIND A MANDALA THAT DEFINES YOU
I am a designer who has always loved my creativity.
The lockdown gave me time to explore my hobby where I got inspiration from many of my known people who were making mandalas.
This came as an idea of “ME Time” for me, the meditation that relaxes my mind from all the problems of the real world.
But gradually, I started loving it. Further, I started reading about the roots of mandala art. What does it symbolize? Where did this word “mandala” come from? How can it help in healing and meditation?
Here is some basic knowledge about mandalas which I would like to share with you.
In ancient sanskrit vedas mandala means “circle”. As it represents the universe where we all exist.
Mandala is a meditative tool and spiritual exercise made with geometric configuration of symbols.
It is generally the spiritual journey, starting from outside to the inner core, through layers.
There are several ways a mandala can be symbolized:
A mandala can define the never-ending process of life and everything is connected. Everything revolves within the circle.
A mandala can be a representation of a spiritual journey within the individual views.
These images are formed from deep within our unconscious mind. Therefore, it can represent a dream in psychoanalysis and search for self-unity and completeness.
When one mentally enters a mandala’s center, the person is symbolically given a tour through the cosmos to reality’s essence. The mandala symbolized the totality of existence, both the inner and the outer.
A Mandala also represents nature within the circle, we can call it an ecosystem in scientific terms.
Basically, the mandala is usually defined as a circle decorated with imagery that directs the mind of the observer inwards from the other rim towards deeper reflection on the meaning and purpose of life, the nature of the universe, the substance and reality of God, the true nature of the self, the underlying form of reality, cosmological truth and actually any other spiritual, psychological or emotional aspects of one’s life.
As now we know mandala represents nature. Start observing objects around you, starting from a little bud of a flower to the galaxy. Everything fits in a circle i.e. mandala.
Pick your favorite mandala from the nature around you that can inspire you, heal you, motivate you, and give peace to your mind.
Look at it daily for some time with a calm mind and trust me it would be the best way to detox your mind.
You can also get your own themed mandalas made in fusion with mantras you want to chant daily for your space.
